Sexy lingerie surprise and cookies for my man's birthday?

I want to come up with a good present for this guy I've been seeing. His birthday's coming up, I'm thinking of making a homemade box, painting it his favorite colors then making cookies and putting them in, and a coupon to take him out to dinner for a special night out. Then at night surprise him with some sexy lingerie. I've never done something like this before and I'm just wondering if that would be a good idea or will he see the lingerie as more just like a present for me? :P it's his 23 birthday
