Help with persuading my dad to get a kitten?

I've always wanted a kitten, ever since I started reading Warriors by Erin Hunter. My dad says because he's like 'deathly allergic' we can't get one. The kitten I want is one my friend's cat had and I absolutely love her. I want to name her Sabrina. But, another thing is, my grandparents have a cat and when he goes there he's absolutely fine! I just think he doesn't want to take care of another animal, but can't I?
